Alison's Story

I am delighted with the service I received through Unite Legal Services.

Unite member Alison was injured while on holiday in Benidorm.

Alison was walking through the lobby when she slipped on wet stairs, and suffered an injury to her hip, which needed surgery.

Through Unite Legal Services, Alison was contacted by a specialist personal injury solicitor to discuss her case and her solicitor was able to proceed with a claim on her behalf.

Alison’s solicitors intimated a claim to Easy Jet - the company she booked her package holiday with, and liability was admitted.

A medical report from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon concluded that a firm prognosis could not be provided until two years post-accident. At that anniversary, Alison’s solicitors had her examined again, and it was confirmed Alison had made a good recovery and she was unlikely to need surgery.

There was no loss of earnings claim given that Alison was retired at the time of the accident.

The medical evidence was disclosed by Alison’s solicitors to the solicitors representing Easy Jet. An initial offer of £13,750 was made but Alison’s solicitors recommended that she reject the offer and seek an increase. An increased offer of £17,500 was put forward and the offer was accepted.

Alison said: “I was happy with the way that Unite Legal Services dealt with my case. The service and advice received was first class. I would recommend the service to any member requiring expert legal assistance.”
